Island location
The island of Milos
Milos is unquestionably one of the most spectacular islands in the Cyclades and is considered by many to be the most exotic island in the Aegean Sea due to its remarkable colors and terrain. The beaches are red, pink, and orange due to volcanic rocks.
Milos's attractions are seemingly endless: Sarakiniko and Kleftiko, with its emerald-green waves, white rock formations, and sea-eroded caverns, are rife with pirate legends. Early Christian catacombs, a variety of beaches, the multicolored communities of Klima, Emborios, and Mandrakia, with their charming structures carved into the cliffs, and Plaka's sunsets, however, equal them.
Pirate caves and a lunar landscape
Katergo, Sarakiniko, Papafragas, Kleftiko, etc. Milos was home to the ferocious pirates of the Middle Ages. There are remnants of their presence in Kleftiko, where bollards for their ships are carved into the breathtaking rocks near the caverns and the blue-green lake. Additionally, Sarakiniko's scenery is surreal, with captivatingly shaped whiter-than-white boulders occupying the cove.
Little Venice of Milos
In the afternoon, wander around Little Venice, a charming, colorful town above the ocean that was formerly the historic port of Milos. Why is it unique? The 35 sirmata, which resemble caves, are now vacation cottages that were formerly used to store boats. Explore the small village, level the river, and bide your time until dusk falls.
Catch a sunset
As you take in one of the most breathtaking sunsets in the Mediterranean, the tiles of Panagia tis Korfiatissas' courtyard will keep your bare feet toasty. attractive Plaka is close by, with the Panagias of Rodon Catholic church, as well as cozy eateries and attractive cafés. Using the castle's old stones, Milos' capital city was constructed around 1800.
