The island of Kefalonia

Magnificent Kefalonia is situated amongst the other Ionian Sea islands. Photographed, discussed, and adored by both Greeks and foreigners. Not just because of the popular 2001 movie Captain Corelli's Mandolin, which was set on the island of Kefalonia, but also because of its stunning scenery, opulent cities, and several other noteworthy features.

Just the names—Argostoli, Lixouri, Fiskardo, Assos, Lake Melissani—are astounding! The largest of the Ionian Islands, Kefalonia is well-known for its emerald-green mountains, turquoise waters, and stunning beaches. For many years, it has been a well-liked vacation destination in Greece.

Explore Mount Enos

Mt. Enos, the tallest peak in the Ionian, gets its name from the black pine (Abies cephalonica), which grows nowhere else yet previously covered it entirely. It is well-known for its abundance of wildflowers and has been a national park since 1962. Equus cabalus, a unique breed of pony, may also be found there.

Kefalonia’s beaches

Because Kefalonia's beaches are among the most beautiful in the Mediterranean, you've undoubtedly seen them on postcards, posters, and movies before. Their waters, which lap against fine round pebbles or pristine white sand, are all shades of blue and green.

Enjoy tavernas and boutiques of Fiskardo

Sailors visiting Kefalonia are barely unaware of the charming harbor of Fiskardo. Landlubbers, however, also like it for its quaint 18th-century structures, which provide it a timeless quality that surpasses the lively bustle of its well-known fish eateries and shops.
